It’s day 2 of a week of celebrating branded company podcasts who won Signal Awards. Today is all about Headspace, who won multiple awards:
Dear Headspace - bronze in Advice & How-To
Sunday Scaries - silver in Health & Wellness
Headspace actually has an even wider network of branded shows. The also have Radio Headspace, and have sponsored three short-run series with other podcasters, an ongoing podcast from YouTubers Yes Theory, and a joint show with Sesame Street that just returned for season 2!
It’s a big investment in podcasting, which has great alignment with their mindfulness product and positioning. The three brand-focused shows form a really synergistic set. Dear Headspace has weekly, longer (30-40min) episodes that go in depth on topics with Headspace meditation teachers, like how to navigate family dynamics over the holidays. Sunday Scaries are short (<10min) tips to transition into the week. Radio Headspace are short (<10min), daily reflections on mindfulness principles.
Sunday Scaries has a regular host Dora Kamau, while the other two shows have a rotating set of hosts from among the Headspace meditation teachers Rosie, Robin, Eve, Kessonga, Sam. That’s great reinforcement of the voices and brands of the teachers in both regular Headspace content and the podcast lessons. Plus, the Headspace podcasts are available to listen on all podcast apps, as well as within the Headspace app, so it ties nicely back to their main monetization.
One other nice touch I like - Dear Headspace includes Q&A from listeners, and they make it super easy to submit with a link in the episode descriptions that is one-click to start recording.
