Whether you publish your branded company podcast as a set of series with breaks in between, or on an ongoing basis, there’s value in having a theme that connects multiple episodes. I like the way Amazon built that into some recent episodes of their show This Is Small Business, produced with JAR Audio.
This Is Small Business
The show had a little under 30 episodes released in an interview format between the host and a small business owner. Then they started a new set of episodes focused on companies competing in the Rice University Business Plan Competition, even going so far as to give it a “Next Generation” miniseries moniker, while still living within the main shows RSS feed. It’s hosted by Andrea Marquez from Amazon and Mitchella Gilbert, MBA who is a small business founder and competition veteran. There’s a great new sense of stakes by connecting the show to the competition, and more shows can look to shake up their format and build urgency around listening to multiple episodes with this miniseries concept.
