I can often tell if a branded company podcast is made with the help of a full-service production partner - there’s a level of script quality, soundscape, and editing that requires a ton of work and expertise that many companies don’t have in house. As far as I can tell, this podcast from TELUS International was made in-house, making it all the more impressive:
Questions for Now - Compelling perspectives on CX
The host (and maybe producer) is Robert Zirk, and while the show has been going intermittently for a few years, it rebooted with this name and a more regular release schedule a year ago. It’s a really high quality narrative show. They cover themes in customer experience that line up well with the company’s service offering and bring in engaging guests. They edit down longer interviews into engaging segments with well scripted host reads to fill in gaps and transition between guests.
I found the marketing and customer support tactics really practical and memorable. One of the metaphors in their last episode was about how the right, thoughtful customer experience can transform an otherwise negative experience - like how the guest stayed at a theme park hotel with the most elaborately decorated and fun elevator experience, which she only realized much later was a successful tactic to take the attention away from how slowly the elevator traveled.
