Podcasts naturally have an ongoing storytelling nature to them, where repeated themes or narratives play out over multiple episodes. That is a natural fit for branded company podcasts where the product or service is sold throughout the year. And an especially interesting way that the Consumer Technology Association structured their show:
CES Tech Talk
CES, or the Consumer Electronics Show, is the flagship event from the association that has run for over 50 years. It has occurred for many years in January in Las Vegas. So for the association, what can you do to stay relevant for your audience for more of the year? Their podcast, which has been running since 2017, does a great job filling in the gap. It features interviews with tech founders throughout the year, which can be pitched as either a preview or a follow up to the main conference depending on the timing. The interview format is also true to the convention style, almost feeling like the audio equivalent of an in-person demo.
