For a company embarking on their second (or beyond) podcast series, it’s always interesting to see if they iterate on a similar format or take more of a departure. Automattic has their original podcast Distributed, which is founder Matt Mullenwag, sometimes with co-hosts, talking about the company’s approach to remote work, culture, and other topics. It can back after a long hiatus for one episode in 2023. I just discovered that Automattic has been publishing a second show for years now:
Women at Work
In contrast to the founder-focused show, this one is interview-based, with host Ane Guerra talking to professional women in design, tech, and business. The interviews hit a nice balance - covering the guest’s backstory and inspiration, their accomplishments and what they are working on now, and also a focus on the changes needed at work to create a more equitable environment.
