Branded company podcasts can be really effective in humanizing the company, their employees, and connecting to their surrounding community.
Welcome to the Neighbourhood UTS
This show from the University of Technology, Sydney is a great example of how to use a podcast to connect to the local environment. The show just launched in February and I listened to the first episode, which dives into the history of the university, but less about the educational founding, rather how the buildings play a role in the city, even back to acknowledging the connection to the aboriginal origins of the land. I like the commitment to focusing on the university as a part of the community, and other nice touches like leaning into inside jokes that will land for students and locals alike.
They also keep things in house for the show’s production. It is hosted by Brittany Rourke, a former UTS student, and produced by Jane Curtis and Britta Jorgensen, in a media production studio that is part of the university.
