I always love finding branded company podcasts created by the major production companies where they put their team and expertise front and center. It’s this surreal dynamic of seeing behind the curtain, or getting this peak into what these people are truly like who usually are behind the scenes making their clients’ voices come to life.
This show is headlined by Canadian Business, an online (and formerly print) publication that is impressively almost reaching its 100 year anniversary. They partnered with Quill Podcasting on the show, but not just to produce it behind the scenes. Joining Jason Maghanoy from the publisher is Quill CEO Fatima Zaidi.
They just launched their first episode with Canadian VCs Allen Lau and Eva Lau so it’s a great time to subscribe to the show. It does a nice job blending general business / entrepreneurial lessons with some details about what it’s like to be a startup in Canada. Jason and Fatima have a debrief segment where they bring in their own expertise that is a nice touch, and I have to give them credit for the on-target jab that the world doesn’t need another show that is “a bunch of finance bros talking about drop shipping.”
