The U.S. government has more and more organizations launching their own branded podcasts, and while on the one hand you might assume that government moves slowly and cautiously into new technologies, they also have urgent needs to recruit employees who might be reluctant to consider public service.
The Langley Files: CIA's Podcast
The Langley Files is the Central Intelligence Agency's new show, and it’s a clever conceit to share secrets of a part of government that is inherently secretive.
The show has a mix of sharing the history and legacy of the CIA, alongside making the connection between CIA tactics and contemporary topics like disguises and technology adoption. I’m more a fan of the latter - a show like this has the potential to bring a wider, and younger, audience to consider the value and opportunity in an otherwise less relatable career.
(I always try to credit and tag the people involved in hosting and producing these shows, but perhaps fittingly for the spy agency, the only details I’ve found for the show are that the hosts are “Dee” and “Walter”)
