Welcome Greenpeace to the set of brands with two podcasts among my branded company podcast reviews!
While no one but me is keeping track of this honor, it catches my attention when brands are making the sustained commitment to podcasting to have a second well-executed show. Besides SystemShift, Greenpeace also has “Oceans: Life Under Water”, and both are produced by Crowd Network, which makes general interest and branded shows.
SystemShift just came back for a 3rd season, and I listened to their first episode of the season. It’s about how countries impose and collect taxes, and the potential for additional revenue generation in developing countries from more effectively taxing the super-rich. One of the most important things a podcast can do is sear a key stat into the mind of the listener. I loved this one from the show - the amount of tax avoidance in developing countries, $90B, is twice as much as the outside monetary development money they are receiving.
