Time to add steel manufacturing to the list of industries that unexpectedly have had multiple interesting branded company podcasts among my reviews. I previously highlighted U.S. Steel, and today it’s Tata Steel:
The show is specifically from the U.K. and hosted by Tim Rutter from the company’s communication team. The comms focus shines through, as this is one of the more policy-focused shows I’ve listened to. There are elements of conveying company and industry strategy with a lot of focus on consumers. It also goes deep on government relations, talking to policy decision makers and advocating for the changes that Tata wants to see in the market.
It can matter a lot what function within a company is leading the effort on creating the podcast. I like this example of a show that builds from the communications side.
