I find a lot of new branded company podcasts through the show announcements on Podnews, which is where I heard about this one from UK-based The Sleep Charity:
Sleep On It
The sleep space is actually home to a handful of branded podcasts, so even in a small niche space like this, it matters to stand out in the show format. Sleep On It combines two elements that I haven’t seen together and it makes for a memorable podcast. The show, from host Mark Thompson and production company Granny Eats Wolf, has the first half of each episode structured as an interview with a sleep expert about the interaction with different areas like nutrition, exercise, and ADHD. But then to wrap up the episode they play extended “full 360 immersive soundscapes”.
There are shows with science experts, and shows focused on meditation or calming audio; it works well how Sleep On It combines the two, and is good reinforcement for other brands considering how to go beyond a standard interview format.
