
This week I’m reinforcing some of the key insights from the 2025 Branded Podcast Benchmark Report from Paul Riismandel and the Signal Hill Insights team. Yesterday I covered Positive Brand Association, today is about Listener Recommendation and Signal Hill found that “63% of listeners say they would probably or definitely recommend a branded podcast, after hearing an episode”.
The show I recently reviewed that stands out for garnering listener recommendation is “playing god?” from the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics. The show goes deep on fascinating ethical gray areas in medicine and healthcare. It leaves the listener thinking about how they would handle these knotty topics, and thus wanting to tell a friend to listen as well. If you can get the audience thinking and talking about the stories you tell, that’s the first step to recommendation and virality.
