I’m a big fan of museums creating branded company podcasts that highlight the art and artists involved in their exhibits. I’ve covered the Metropolitan Museum of Art recently, and today have a podcast from the Getty Research Institute:
Recording Artists
I really like their concept, where in each episode you hear from an artist, in their own words, about their creative process and the work they have on display at the Getty and other places. I listened to an episode with host Tess Taylor in conversation with Getty curator Pietro Rigolo and author Maya Binyam. It’s a nice showcase of the role archived material can play in a podcast, and how to shake up a regular 1:1 interview format with a panel discussion.
