It can be tough for the average American to know what our intelligence and security agencies are doing on behalf, and even more so to differentiate the responsibilities of the seemingly similar organizations! The National Security Agency is getting in the branded podcast game to help with that:
No Such Podcast
The show launched in August and the episodes shed light on the important but secretive work of the agency. I listened to the first episode and it goes into what Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) is and the behind the scenes work that goes into major terrorism initiatives. I also like that they’re willing to make light of the perceptions of the agency, notably with the name of the podcast itself - “No Such Agency” is jokingly referred to as the alternative explanation of NSA.
This model for a government agency podcast works well, and in fact I initially wondered if this was the NSA’s second podcast, but I was actually thinking of the similar and also solid show from the CIA “The Langley Files”. Hoping to see this be a growing trend to hear more from our major spy agencies.
