It’s cool to see branded company podcasts that tie into content marketing from other channels. In today’s review, it’s a close connection between a podcast that has been running for the last year, and a TV show that premiered in 1963!
Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom
The original TV host was involved from 1963 to 1985, with Peter Gros joining in 1985, and amazingly is now the co-host along with Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant of the companion podcast. It all fits together nicely, and the podcast, produced by Pineapple Street, is fun and sound-rich with stories like “the sounds of beluga whales” and “the incredible resilience of polar bears”. The podcast episodes are able to make compelling references to the TV show and build the audience across both channels. It’s really cool to see such a long-standing content property and cause that the company continues to invest in.
