I have two elementary school ago kids who enjoy podcasts, so I’m regularly looking for new shows that they’ll enjoy. I usually consider this pool of shows separate from the branded company podcasts that I listen to myself - kids shows tend to be funded by audience contributions / memberships, or conventional advertisements for parent-targeted products.
Million Bazillion
This podcast is from Marketplace, which podcast and public radio listeners will be familiar from their daily news and economics shows, and is affiliated with Minnesota Public Radio. Million Bazillion, hosted by Bridget Bodnar and Ryan Perez, is their podcast for kids and families about money. The show has education non-profit foundations as sponsors: The Ranzetta Family Charitable Fund, Next Gen Personal Finance, and The Sy Syms Foundation.
It also has a brand as a named sponsor, Greenlight, which fittingly is a debit card and money app for kids and teens. Greenlight is emphasized in the show logo as you can see below, and gets multiple host-read ads during the episodes. I like the choices and treatment all around - having the additional corporate sponsorship helps Marketplace produce educational content for kids, and Greenlight gets an effective and topical channel to communicate with their audience of parents and kids.
