
It’s a double business school week for my branded company podcast reviews this week coincidentally, with Tuesday’s show from Harvard and today’s from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Know What You See with Brian Lowery
Stanford has an impressive set of shows they directly distribute and brand, and they actually go a step further. This show is in what their network calls “From the GSB Community”, meaning it features Stanford faculty who are hosts of general interest podcasts. This one is produced with PRX and has a very thoughtful theme - “our fundamental need to connect with others”. I really liked the conversation I listened to on Japanese Kintsugi ceramics with artist Naoko Fukumaru. In a credit to the host, the interview had plenty of space to just let the guest tell their story and follow up, without a feeling of pushing to hit certain topics or sound bites.
Overall it’s a compelling show, a smart partnership, and great to see schools embrace a podcast network approach that includes hosting opportunities for their faculty.
