I have another social impact-focused branded company podcast to highlight today, with this one from PepsiCo:
Journey to Zero Hunger
It’s a nice contrast to my show from yesterday (Inclusion Begins with Me from MetLife) because the other show focused on company-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, while the PepsiCo show is specifically about an initiative championed by the PepsiCo Foundation on food insecurity.
A lot of larger companies have these campaigns to promote a good cause that ties into the product or service they sell, and it’s such a good fit for a branded podcast when directly talking about products can feel too commercial. Journey to Zero Hunger is hosted by PepsiCo Foundation’s President C. D. Glin who brings great energy and connections to the interviews.
They do make an interesting choice in the show notes to say the podcast doesn’t necessarily reflect the opinions of PepsiCo Foundation, which in practice is just legal risk management, though it struck me as unfortunate to have to walk away from standing behind the content in this minor way. The show has been off since July but I hope they’ll be back soon!
