I’m especially fond of branded company podcasts that tell the stories of people working at the company, since I’ve made an internal employee podcast at Dropbox, and a creator-facing show at Patreon that featured employee interviews. So, even though this show from The Home Depot is not longer active, I want to give it some recognition:
Give Me An H
I listened to the final episode of the show, from February 2022, with the host Ariette Guthrie who is SVP of Human Resources interviewing Home Depot’s CEO Craig Menear. I imagine it was a great exclamation point on the limited series to end with the CEO. I liked the interview for finding a balance between relaying elements of company strategy while also telling Craig’s story and passion for retail.
It’s too bad Home Depot hadn’t kept the show running for longer than the 17 episodes. They had an impressive portfolio going of VP+ level guests that had been featured on the show. I like these shows that are effective at motivating employees about company goals, as well as reinforcing brand elements to an outside audience!
