By writing so many reviews of branded company podcasts, even without explicitly organizing them into themes, random connections do pop up. Today is my third consecutive podcast with a show based in the U.K. - no deeper message than that there are a lot of great shows coming out of the country, and I’m trying to make sure I cast a wide net to find interesting shows.
Game Changers
This review is also a repeat appearance from the brand in question, The National Lottery, as I previously reviewed their show Rich Beyond My Wildest Dreams. They serve as nice contrasts, with Game Changers focusing on the people and organizations that are positively impacted by the funding the lottery provides to non-profits in the country.
The episode I listened to in particular was a nice combination of an athlete hosting interviewing an athlete guest and the natural connection they had. Also interesting in terms of the show’s history and marketing is that it’s an evolution in the same feed of their earlier show Amazing Starts Here, and when done tactfully that approach is a great way to build off of an existing audience.
