
The home stretch countdown of my Fortune 500 branded company podcast series continues, with 421-430 today. My approach has been to highlight the active shows of ten companies at a time and list the companies who haven’t created any podcasts. In between though is the inactive status, where a company was producing a show but it is no longer actively publishing. The nature of RSS is that these shows live on unless the owner actively deletes the feed.
There are a few examples in these ten of companies that have one or more inactive shows. The point here isn’t to make conclusions about these specific companies. Rather it’s to highlight that sticking with making branded company podcasts is really, really tough. Lots of companies start them, and then whether it’s a after a few episodes, or many dozens, eventually wrap up the initiative. It’s all the more impressive to see the companies that have turned podcasting in a multi-year, ongoing content marketing channel!
