
My final 10 countdown continues of the Fortune 500 roundup of branded company podcasting. It’s been on my mind how helpful and motivating it has been to have this project. Before it started I was looking for more structured ways to find these podcasts. A lot of them come haphazardly from shows getting press in Podnews, promoting in Pocket Casts, or referenced on other shows I listen to. Having the Fortune 500 list was a nice and contained list. It still took manual research work to investigate which companies publish a podcast - an effort that can now be streamlined substantially with AI as the starting point.
But besides the company list, the habit of slotting in a Friday Fortune post was a helpful model for my content writing. That locked in 20% of the review slots I need to stay on schedule, and the repeatable format was helpful as well. So as this series wraps up with its 50th post, I’m thinking about what other theme might carry on in the Friday slot - maybe deep dives on particular industries, or going through another list of the top x companies on another dimension.
