I’ve been seeing more and more branded company podcasts from non-profit organizations, and podcasts are such a good medium for telling the stories of the work they’re doing and the impact they have.
The show is from the World Peace Foundation with production by Emily Shaw, who has multiple shows I’ve reviewed from the Brands in Audio directory. I like the way the show embraces the gravity of the issues they tackle through in-depth interviews with activists working across the world. And it balances the serious topics with an inspiring message. Host Bridget Conley has a wrap up question she calls “collective dreaming”, which I found a really beautiful way to reorient the conclusion of the episode around possibility and hope.
If you listen to the show, pay close attention to the theme music as well. I really liked the energy and pace of it, and also had a feeling that it reminded me of another podcast. It gives me strong Serial vibes - I went back and listened to the Serial theme song; they’re different, but with enough of a pattern that I can see why the music works well for both shows.
