There are a lot of dentists in the U.S., and a bunch of them must be listening to the American Dental Association's podcast:
Dental Sound Bites
Because they announced that the show has reached 100,000 downloads. And remarkably that’s from just 18 total episodes.
They are doing a number of things really well for a podcast targeted to a professional association. The hosts are Dr ArNelle Wright, DMD, MS and Dr Effie Ioannidou, who bring mentorship and research expertise to this role of speaking to and on behalf of their peer dentists. And the episodes hit on elements that will be compelling for their narrow audience, while being inscrutable to outsiders - they go deep on dental technology changes, they cover Q&A across a wide range of dental practice topics, and they embrace dental humor, like this: “[patients] may really believe they brush for two minutes, but actually they brush for 52 seconds.” “You mean 52 seconds or five seconds?”
Congrats to the ADA for impressive adoption of the show, and producing a great example of a branded podcast for a professional industry association.
