Typical guests on branded company podcast episodes are, roughly in order, a) employees at the company, b) customers/partners, c) external experts. So it was a fresh idea to listen to an episode of RedHat’s podcast that focused on individuals earlier in their career with only an indirect connection to the company.

RedHat’s show has been running for 60+ episodes hosted by Angela Andrews and Brent Simoneaux, and picked up a nomination in the Shorty Awards in 2022, so it has covered quite a bit of ground. I listened to an episode two years ago, and just got exposed to the show again and listened to another. The new episode told the story of two different people at key moments in their careers in IT. It was interesting because these aren’t executives from well-known companies - they are people who are passionate about what they do and have figured out a role that works for them. I really liked this refreshingly down-to-earth style of episode!
