Sometimes when I find a branded company podcast through my systematic march through the Fortune 500, I have immediate high hopes, and I’m crossing my fingers that the show will live up to my expectations. Happily, the podcast from Sherwin-Williams was just as good as I thought it would be:
The show is produced by Amaze Media Labs and you can tell that a lot of craft has gone into the show. In fact, host Sue Wadden - appropriately the Director of Color Marketing - directly referenced that, saying the podcast is years in the making. I love that you can clearly tell that the team has been wanting to make a branded podcast for a long time, and finally got the funding, momentum, and unique marketing moment to make it happen.
The theme of the show is obviously color, which makes sense for a paint company. It’s the type of topic that I knew would resonate, since it has that special podcast magic of a niche but interesting area, featuring people that are extraordinarily passionate about said area, providing a nicely edited behind the scenes view.
You don’t have to love paint, or shows about design, to feed off the energy and learn something new about color and consumer trends in the process. If you enjoy it and want even more podcasts about paint, I also previously reviewed the similarly strong podcast offering from rival Benjamin Moore.
