The financial services industry has a high penetration rate of branded company podcasts, which makes sense given the importance of demonstrate and signaling expertise, and the high value client relationships. Today I’m looking at the podcast from Capital Group:
Capital Ideas Investing Podcast
Generally financial firms’ podcasts fall in a couple of categories - discussions of industry news and investing techniques, or telling the stories of the people at the company and their journeys. Overall in the Capital Ideas feed they have recently been doing about 2/3 financial news and 1/3 internal interviews, which they call “Conversations with Mike Gitlin”.
I listened to one of these conversations, with Kirstie Spence. It’s an impressive and motivating listen, as it does a nice job highlighting both the decades of experience Kirstie brings to the company’s clients, but also the non-traditional path she took and what keeps her inspired by the work.
