Intuit Mailchimp is one of the most prolific companies in establishing a network of branded shows, (not to mention their memorable sponsorship of the first season of Serial,) so this won’t be the only time I review a show from them.
Call Paul
Call Paul follows a pretty typical format of an inquisitive entrepreneur, Paul Jarvis, interviewing small business founders about their journey and it’s been running for 40+ episodes over four seasons.
An interesting aspect of the show’s role in a company podcast network is that from the very first episode, the show has been sponsored and produced by Mailchimp. That leads to a brief mention of Mailchimp at the start and end of the episode, along with a mid-roll ad that promotes a magazine / blog content property from Mailchimp. It’s a good example of being able to use podcast airtime to cross-promote across different company marketing properties, and an interesting contrast to when companies partner with an existing show that is already established and running their own ads.
