Today’s branded company podcast highlight only releases a new episode every three months, because they follow a very strict format:
The podcast serves to provide an audio version of their quarterly earnings call. No commentary, no interviews, no other content. So why make note of a show that doesn’t have most of the elements of other podcasts? I’m actually surprised I don’t see this tactic used more often. Publicly traded companies are required to make their earnings calls public - so why not use the podcast format as one of the ways to distribute it; the rare person might follow the show, and certainly some will prefer to be able to listen on their phone among other podcasts rather than just from the Blackstone website.
