Regular readers of my branded podcast reviews may recall that by reviewing a podcast from Bain & Company, I’ve now completed the trifecta of BCG (where I used to work), McKinsey, and Bain, who all have done a great job establishing their own networks of branded shows. It’s a natural fit for consulting, where the firms want to establish their thought leadership credentials, and they have lots of published insights and capable experts.
For Bain, I listened to a couple of their shows and chose to highlight:
Beyond The Bio
I liked this one because it doesn’t follow the usual consulting podcast mode of picking an industry or functional area and bringing on a range of internal and client experts. Beyond The Bio is more of an employer brand show, where it shares about company priorities and internal operations. I’m a big fan of these types of shows - podcasting works well for sharing these stories, and it gives candidates and employees another perspective on the company.
It makes sense that Keith Bevans, who is a Partner at Bain and head of their consultant recruiting, is the host, as he’s highly invested in recruiting and retention opportunities. He’s heading off for a sabbatical, and I liked that the show made that clear as well as a plan to have other Bain podcasting content in the feed of this show.
