The Olympics are over, so it’s back to conventional branded company podcasts for my reviews. I’ll get back into them with a podcast in the UK from the company I work for, Uber:
Behind the Wheel: Uber UK
With that disclosure out of the way, it’s the type of show I like where a company is willing to let listeners in on the behind the scenes details of how the company operates. Behind the Wheel is hosted by a prolific UK driver Tabraiz and he gets extensive access to members of the Uber UK team to talk about how the platform works for drivers in their market.
Beyond having a driver as the show’s host, it also tackles the topics drivers really care about, like how ratings of drivers work on the platform, and how Uber handles fees and driver earnings. This helps build empathy and trust with the driver audience, and the show also has a strong community feel. One segment I love is they share “Uber Kindness” stories of ways drivers have gone above and beyond for their passengers.
