I don’t often get to promote branded company podcasts where I know the host, so today’s recommendation has a nice extra connection to it:
Bedrock Wine Conversations
I was introduced to Chris Cottrell through a mutual friend, and it came up in the conversation that I write about branded podcasts, and that he co-hosts his own one for the winery where he is “partner/consigliere” and joined by “owner/winemaker” Morgan Twain-Peterson.
If you’re a fan of the insights from experts you get from wine tasting, you’ll probably enjoy the show. And more broadly there are a couple other takeaways for branded shows more generally. They show that for your dedicated listeners and fans of the brand, you can go super deep on the production process and product launches. They regularly do two-part episodes totaling 2-3 hours walking through their major seasonal wine releases.
These episodes are interspersed with interviews with peer winemakers. These are also marathon sessions of similar length, and it was fun to hear the backstory from Chris that these conversations are an excuse to spend extended time with the people in the industry he already is friends with or wants to get to know better. Great advice for approaching interviews on branded podcasts regardless of the industry.
