The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts now has their own branded podcast with a new launch just last month:
Art Class
The show has a compelling and important angle, using a discussion among “three Black, queer artists, culturistas, and arts administrators” to talk about arts in contemporary society. I particularly like how the thread of arts education is woven throughout. The bulk of the episodes are an overall, free flowing conversation among the hosts - Lee Bynum (Chief Education Officer of Lincoln Center), Rocky Jones, and Paige Reynolds).
It really caught my attention when they pivoted to few shorter segments that capture the feeling of school programming. “Career Day” with an interview with an artist about their process and journey. “Morning Announcements” covering upcoming art events and experiences. And “Pure Black Joy” for each host to share something special that they want to bring to the audience. The content of the segments work, and the clever theming of them really helps land the art class vibe.
