I listen to a lot of podcasts about making podcasts, and this show from branded podcast production company CitizenRacecar is my current favorite:

(A Podcast About) Making Better Podcasts

The show launched last month with three episodes, and I really hope that more are on the way! CitizenRacecar Founder & Principal David Hoffman is the host, but far from the only voice. He brings his team along in taking listeners on a journey of how to think about purposefully constructing your podcast, covering format, narrative, and segments / bits / callbacks.

The topics could easily come across as an audio textbook, but the show is so much more engaging. It speaks directly to the listener about their experience making a podcast, and it seamlessly adjusts the style of the “Making Better Podcasts” show to illustrate the options. It’s a bit hard to explain - in talking about 1st vs 2nd vs 3rd person perspective in narration, the show switches live between each of those styles! It’s ambitious and it works remarkably well.
