It can be tricky to make a connection between a brand and a social cause. Mattress company Avocado Green Brands navigates it well in their podcast A Little Green.
A Little Green
The show is now on its second season, which focuses on stories of people connected to nature. I listened to S2 E1: Lehua Kamalu: The Navigator, which was an engrossing story of a native Hawaiian woman and her journey in long-distance canoeing, and the connection it has to the land and people of Hawaii.
I hadn’t heard of Avocado mattresses before stumbling on the show, but I think the connection works, as they want to be known for their premium organic mattresses, and the podcast tells compelling stories of why our natural spaces are so important. They released a first season focused on climate change in Oct-Nov 2021, and the personal profile-focused season two all dropped on a single day in Jan’23. I’m hoping they’ll be back for a season 3
