Last week I was a panelist in the Brand Podcast Summit by Lower Street. I was honored to get the chance to share my insights from working with creators at Patreon, producing branded company podcasts, and ongoing commentary about the industry through Brands In Audio.
Special thanks for Harry Morton and Jeni Rose Larsen for hosting the event, and my fellow panelists Arielle Nissenblatt and Lloyd George and moderator Colin Gray.
We shared what brands can learn from creators to apply to their podcasting efforts and I included examples from a handful of shows that I’ve reviewed here before:
- Amazon - This is Small Business - how to innovate on an existing show format like they did with a mini-season about the Rice Business Plan competition
- Disney - Life at Disney - an example of a unique brand voice showcasing the stories of Disney employees
- Genentech - Two Scientists Walk Into A Bar - another unique brand voice example as they lean into the deep technical expertise of their researchers and the conceit that the show takes place in a bar
- Chicago Booth - Chicago Booth Review - leveraging owned marketing and thought leadership channels, not just social media
If you didn’t get a chance to join this summit, I definitely encourage keeping an eye out for future ones to learn from experts in the world of branded company podcasts!
